A Moment of Weakness

I love Costco!  After being without a card for over a year, I had forgotten how much I love it.  Who doesn’t love a place that feeds you every time you go in?  And you don’t even have to pay extra for it!  I can get a whole lunch worth of food in samples every Saturday… and sometimes Fridays.  What’s not to love?

Sometimes, when I’m feeling especially lazy and need to make a Costco run anyway, I make the kids eat lunch there too.  I know, Mother of the Year!  **Bowing**

They don’t mind it.  In fact, they love going on the hunt with me.  It’s kind of a game for us. Secretly stalking the nearest sample booth, ready to pounce at precisely the right moment.  The moment the little cups are being filled.  All the while, scoping out all the other sample stalkers.  Gotta make sure we’re the first in line for those bad boys because seriously, sometimes my family of seven wipes out their whole tray in one fell swoop {had to google that… I thought it was ‘fowl swoop’}.  We are hunters, the samples are the prey.

Anthony doesn’t find it nearly as thrilling as the girls and I do.  I don’t know what’s wrong with him.  I mean, really.

Well, last week as we stalked the samples, I had a little too much time to browse the food aisles.  Waiting for the next sample to be ready can be time consuming.

As I browsed, I noticed the Nutella.  Please tell me you know what that is.

HEAVEN!  That’s what it is!  And it’s been a long time since I’ve had any of that piece of heaven.

With my family’s newest eating habits, this is not something I would normally buy.  However, I had a moment of weakness when K asked if we could please get some and buy some graham crackers to go with it.  Yes, heaven belongs on a graham cracker.

I gave in.  Besides, I had found a few Nutella recipes that I have been dying to make… brownies, cookies, cheesecake, etc.

But of course at Costco, you can’t just buy one jar of Nutella, you have to buy TWO!  So we did.  And I thought at lease it’ll last a while.

Pssssshhhh!

Who am I kidding?  I can’t stop eating it!  And who needs a graham cracker?  I’ll take it on a spoon… {mostly because we ran out of graham crackers} but I’ll still take it on a spoon.  It’s the devil… get it out of my house!  I can’t help myself.

But apparently, I’m not the only one.

Note to self… Never buy Nutella again… EVER!

P.S. The first jar is gone.  I’m scared to open the second.

I've never had it, but my husband has, so I bought a jar for him and my son. I have yet to try it, because I know, with as much as I love chocolate yumminess, I might as well stick that jar right on my butt, because that's right where it will end up anyway, haha!

Ha! I love it! I've never had Nutella, but it's obviously awesome. May have to try it...but then again, I'm sort of afraid to; I already have an addictive personality :)

And I totally know what you mean about stalking the samples. We go to Sam's Club sometimes JUST to eat. It's like a date.

Great post! Stopping by and following from the Say Hi Sunday hop!

I just bought a jar of Nutella for the first time yesterday! I have been missing out - this stuff is AMAZING! I was thinking of making chocolate cupcakes with a Nutella frosting? Do you have any recipes similar to that??? Brownies sound pretty good too!

Bwahaha to the pictures! Do you know what else is good with Nutella? Nilla Wafers...yep - try it if you haven't already!

I'm sorry it's taken me FOREVER to come visit your blog - I have been such a blog slacker this summer!

But I'm glad you found mine - I really want to get back to blogging - I miss my daily blogging fix!

Those are such cute pictures...I think my mom would freak if the kids ever did that in her house - God Forbid those chocolate fingers got all over the house!

Oh, I so understand! I thought I was the only one who ate it with a spoon.... We used to buy it at Costco too because then we got one jar for the family and one jar for me...with my celiacs I have to have my own stuff. I've outlawed it in our house. When we have it, it is all we eat and those huge jars are lucky to see a few days! It is so yummy though. And it does have protein.... :)

Love Nutella, can't eat it any longer because of the sugar content, but I miss it terribly.

How cute those pictures are....

Hmm, I haven't run across any Nutella frosting recipes. I'll keep my out for sure! I have other recipes in mind but I bet Nutella would make a FABULOUS frosting. Maybe I'll 'invent' my own.

That jar of ours didn't last more than a few days here either. And it's good to know that I have a fellow spoon eater. That sounds funny but you know what I mean.

Good to know that it has protein! ;) I just saw sugar as the #1 ingredient and decided not to look at anything else. Could be scary!

That's awesome! He looks perfectly content. I would be too. We love Nutella, but I have stopped buying it for similar reasons. We also love free samples, though I like to pretend I'm not that interested then pounce at just the right time. :)
